DELUSIONAL MAN ARRESTED AFTER STANDOFF.

A six-hour standoff with an armed and delusional man ended Friday when Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  SWAT officers subdued him with Taser fire.

The 33-year-old man charged out of his house in the 21000 block of Gault n. 1. (Geol.) A series of beds of clay and marl in the South of England, between the upper and lower greensand of the Cretaceous period.  Street about 8 p.m., forcing officers to fire a Taser gun at him before taking him into custody, said Los Angeles Police Department "LAPD" and "L.A.P.D." redirect here. ``His family said he's been acting strange for several days,'' Cudworth said. ``This here is the culmination of that.''

The standoff began about 2 p.m. when a neighbor reported hearing gunfire. Patrol officers responded and found a bullet hole in a sliding glass door at a nearby house.

They then heard the suspect muttering mut·ter

SWAT officers were called to the scene after the man refused demands over the phone and a bullhorn to surrender, he said. Police believe the man might be mentally ill, or was under the influence of narcotics narcotics n. 1) techinically, drugs which dull the senses. 2) a popular generic term for drugs which cannot be legally possessed, sold, or transported except for medicinal uses for which a physician or dentist's prescription is required. .

A significant quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine was found on him at the time of his arrest, Cudworth said.
