Delta Electronics Corp., ranked the fifth largest manufacturer of Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPSs) in the United States by Venture Development Corp., will be showcasing its latest hardware and software solutions during Networks Expo in booth number 1919.

Deltec's newest LanSafe III software release gives users increased system flexibility and the ability to extend battery runtime for critical devices in LAN and POS applications.

The new LanSafe III v.3.6, when used in conjunction with Deltec's PowerRite Max UPS, is able to control individual power receptacles of the UPS and route battery backup power to the devices that need it most.

This patented technology, Precision Power Control, allows less critical equipment to be quickly and safely shut down separately in order to extend backup time to a more critical device, such as a file server. With the total load safely reduced, backup time for the file server, which is connected to an individually controlled receptacle, is significantly increased.

This key feature can nearly double the battery runtime to the file server. Utilizing Precision Power Control, users also have the ability to configure scheduled shutdowns and startups of equipment, for increased security and energy savings.

LanSafe III records the time and description of impactive power disturbances, and prompts the user to save work-in-progress before the system shuts down. In the event of an unattended power failure, LanSafe III will automatically save all work-in-progress and gracefully shut down networked devices in a user-defined sequential order -- safeguarding file structures and data in volatile memory.

Working in concert with Deltec's UPSs, LanSafe III is the first power management software to give users the ability to customize shutdown functions tailored to their specific network, providing full protection and control of power across the network.

In an extended power failure, LanSafe III conducts a sequential and orderly shutdown of all network devices. This feature assures that all work-in-progress is saved prior to shutdown. For example, bridges and routers can be shut down after workstations have saved data back to the server. LanSafe III also simultaneously tests all UPSs on the network, giving administrators full system control and protection.

Through LanSafe's real-time graphical user interfaces, users can quickly see various states of power on the network, as well as UPS status. The Battery Management Log states the condition of the UPS's battery, including battery status and Deltec's exclusive Advanced Battery Management (ABM) system. LanSafe's PowerScope screen shows real-time power UPS status data in an easy-to-understand graphical display.

LanSafe III v.3.6 is currently available in stand-alone and bundled versions with Deltec's PowerRite Max UPSs. Stand-alone pricing starts at $99. The PowerRite Max family is available in 450VA, 700VA, 1000VA and 1500VA, with list prices starting at $299. Hardware/software bundles start at $339.
