DELL SELECTS GRAPHICS SOLUTION FROM INTENSE3D FOR DELL PRECISION WORKSTATIONS; New Graphics Accelerator Strengthens Dell's Performance Position.


ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 1999--Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today announced it has selected the Intense3D(TM) Wildcat(TM) 3D graphics technology as a graphics accelerator A display adapter that performs a specialized set of graphics functions to render an image on screen. Today, all display adapters provide basic rendering functions in hardware, but many have graphics processing units (GPUs) that are sophisticated computers.  option for its Dell Precision Dell Precision is a line of workstation computers produced by Dell, Inc.. The Xeon has the same P6 core as existing Pentium Pro/Pentium II units, but it supports a 100 MHz system bus and offers as much as 2 MB of level 2 cache.
