The DEG Creative Excellence Awards were presented at the group's annual reception during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The DEG awarded four top honors; three of these were given to acknowledge Creative Excellence in DVD titles released in calendar 2003. The judging panel, nominated by the motion picture studio and music company members of the DEG, consisted of journalists with extensive DVD reviewing experience.
