After holding Servite to a 1-yard touchdown by running back D.J. Shoemate for four quarters, the Celts defensecame up with back-to-back sacks late in regulation to end a late Friars' rally. Crespi linebackers E.J. Woods and Karim Williams sacked Friars quarterback Johnny McEntee for 4- and 9-yard losses, sending a 7-7 game into overtime. That's where Crespi's defense stiffened again, forcing Servite to kick a 27-yard Nick Echeverry field goal. "I felt our defense could have played a little better but we came out with a good game plan to stop Shoemate," said Woods, who scored the winning touchdown on a 2-yard plunge in overtime. Shoemate, who came into the game averaging more than 100yards per game, was held by the Celts (11-2) to 74 yards on 22 carries. Most of those yards came in the last three quarters after Servite coach Troy Thomas opted to give Shoemate his first carry on the final play of the first quarter. "I don't why they did that, I guess it was in the gameplan," said Celts defensive lineman Julian Fields, who spent the rainy rain·y adj. rain·i·er, rain·i·est Characterized by, full of, or bringing rain. rain i·ness n.Adj. night being triple-teamed by the Friars offensive line. That was the 18th interception by the Celts secondary, this time by Adam Gottschalk to end a Servite drive at the Friars 47-yard-line early in the fourth quarter.
