DEERHUNTER STEREO, GLASGOW, MAY 20 ***

WHILE the ship went down, the massively talented Deerhunter managed to keep a smile and make multiple attempts at Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit.

They had a poor night. Sound problems in the opening minutes of Cryptograms took a few minutes to correct, but the mis-firing tone was set for the entire show.

and the catchy surf rock Surf rock is a style of music that originated in the USA that mixes elements of surf music and rock music. Never Stops were positives but just as the show was gathering pace with Nothing Ever Happened, the problems returned.

Lead-singer Bradford Cox had several friendly exchanges with the crowd as the glitches were ironed out but he couldn't have been more optimistic op·ti·mist
