DECT Forum: Sharply Increased Forecast for DECT 6.0 Interference Free Cordless Phone Products.

BERNE, Switzerland -- The DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) A cordless phone standard mostly used in Europe; however, DECT 6.0 is increasingly used worldwide. The first DECT standards were introduced by ETSI in 1992, and DECT phones have been used as cordless home phones as  Forum, the international industry association embracing suppliers and operators of DECT based terminals, is boosting its market forecast for the DECT 6.0 based on accelerating market acceptance of this technology. Many vendors released DECT 6.0 products in the US market, following the decision of the Federal Communications Commission Federal Communications Commission (FCC), independent executive agency of the U.S. government established in 1934 to regulate interstate and foreign communications in the public interest.  (FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S. ) in 2004 to allocate a frequency band (1920 - 1930 MHz) to avoid interference with legacy products. Based on vigorous initial market acceptance, the DECT Forum has confidently increased its volume projections for DECT 6.0.

North American consumers need an interference-free standard for cordless phone technology", says Erich Kamperschroer, Chairman of the DECT Forum. DECT Forum expects the following DECT 6.0 product volumes in North America:
Year Volume (units)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
              2006 634k
----------------------------------------------------------------------
              2007 2,345m
----------------------------------------------------------------------
              2008 5,234m
----------------------------------------------------------------------
              2009 6,883m
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The remarkable increase in market share in 2008 and 2009 will be caused by the further roll-out of DECT 6.0 products in the medium and low price region.

The proven and reliable DECT technology provides all the advantages for private consumers and small and medium sized companies:

--interference free communication

--brilliant quality of voice and sound

--future IP support

In addition, a strong new brand has been introduced with the use of "DECT 6.0 - Interference Free Communication". The DECT technology can easily be integrated into WLAN See wireless LAN.

"Retailers, Operators, Distributors and Resellers will highly benefit from a better customer satisfaction, lower return rate, and higher revenue with DECT 6.0", says Erich Kamperschroer.
