The Drop The Pressure legend has been holed up in the capital working on a new album which is due out in September.

But after buying a house at auction in Hackney and doing it up with his mates, the Scot feels homesick and is happy to be lured north to star in the festival's inspired SoCo Social line-up.

Mylo said: "Mostly I've been locked away in the studio making music and listening to my vinyl collection for inspiration. I'm looking forward to getting out there and playing live especially at RockNess and Creamfields.

"I bought a house at auction in Hackney, London, and I've been doing it up with my mates. Nice to do an honest day's work and get my hands dirty. It gives you a great sense of achievement when you see your hard work finished.

"But I have to escape home as often as possible because I love the remote feeling of being up there away from all the world's madness.

"London does my head in to be honest. Having known a couple of Londoners from my university days at Oxford, I've always thought they were a different breed. And there's no decent pubs down here either so I can't wait to get back up there." Mylo, 31, plays the Soco Social tent at RockNess next Saturday.
