Di Moore has teamed up with Scotland's top human rights lawyer John Scott at Capital Defence in Edinburgh. The firm are renowned campaigners for prisoners' rights all over the world. Di's former business partner Victoria Good said she wanted to work with prisoners facing execution in US jails. There are about 3600 men and women on death row in the 38 states that sanction capital punishment capital punishment, imposition of a penalty of death by the state. She said: "Di has taken the decision to move as she has long-term plans to work in America on death row. "Because of her ambitions, she couldn't commit to the long-term plans of the partnership." A source close to the firm added: "The split has been amicable but Di has decided she wanted to move in a different direction. "She's going to continue to work in Edinburgh for a while but her friends think she will be heading to the US before too long." Di had a role in the creation of schoolboy wizard Harry Potter. Di and her husband Roger Moore - who runs the Black Medicine coffee chain - persuaded JK to move from Portugal to Edinburgh after the break-up of her first marriage in 1993. The penniless author, real name Joanne, created the Harry Potter character and wrote the first book in Nicolson's Cafe, owned by Roger. The Potter franchise has netted JK a pounds 595million fortune.
