DEATH OF TEEN HITS GRANADA HILLS HIGH.Byline: Lisa Van Proyen Staff Writer GRANADA HILLS - Students, teachers and others at Granada Hills High School Granada Hills Charter High School (Granada Hills High School) is a public, charter, co-educational, secondary school consisting of students in grades 9-12. The school colors are green, black, and white. on Tuesday mourned the suicide of an 11th-grader widely known for her involvement in campus drama productions. Grief counselors stood by to help teen-agers just learning that the girl had drowned herself in a pool Monday. Assistant Principal Julia Howelman said a memorial could be held today as part of the healing process. ``She had a large group of friends.'' The girl was heavily involved in the school's drama program and took lead roles, Howelman said. She was the stage manager for a production this semester. Letters were sent home to parents Tuesday notifying them about the death, tips to identify suicide danger signs, and the availability of the crisis counselors at the school, said Principal Sandy Collins. The teen-ager, identified as Diane R. Jett, drowned Monday in a swimming pool in the 17000 block of Jersey Street in Granada Hills, authorities said.
