A study by Lacors has revealed the takeaway - often consumed after a night's drinking - is packed with "heart-attack" ingredients.

Food standards officers found the average doner contains 98 per cent of the recommended daily salt intake and 148 per cent of daily saturated fat saturated fat, any solid fat that is an ester of glycerol and a saturated fatty acid. The molecules of a saturated fat have only single bonds between carbon atoms; if double bonds are present in the fatty acid portion of the molecule, the fat is said to be .

The worst one they came across was 1,990 calories. Study chief Geoffrey Theobald warned kebabs are "a serious cause for concern".
