DEATH CASE DOC IS BACK AT WORK.

A doctor who left a patient looking like the victim of a Nazi death camp is back at work.

The Sunday Mail can reveal that within weeks of being stripped of his right to practise, Dr Rada Sarker is again seeing patients at his surgery in Glasgow.

The disgraced doc was in charge of the Glenglova Nursing Home in Glasgow when old Agnes McCabe died in agony.

A disciplinary hearing in London last month heard that the 79-year-old spinster looked like a victim from a German concentration camp.

And after hearing more evidence of shocking neglect, the General Medical Council stripped Sarker, 63, of his ability to practise. But we can disclose that he is back working with patients - after lodging an appeal against the decision.

John McCabe, 54-year-old nephew of the dead pensioner, said: "This man is spitting in my eye by going back to work.

"He did not bring forward anyone to defend him and to discover that he has now appealed is a disgusting slap in the face."

Sarker has lodged an appeal with the Judicial Committee - but it is unlikely to be heard before the New Year.

Meanwhile, there is nothing to prevent the disgraced doc continuing to see patients.

Posing as a patient new to the area, a Sunday Mail investigator was told that Sarker is still holding consultations at the Castlemilk Health Centre in the estate's Dougrie Drive.

At the reception area, his nameplate is separated by several feet from all the other doctors practising at the clinic.

Last month's GMC hearing was given an horrific account of life inside Glenglova Home, jointly run by Dr Sarker and his wife, Adu.

Dr Sarker admitted failing to ensure the residents received adequate and wholesome food, that the home was in- adequately heated and failing to provide appropriate hygiene standards.

Miss McCabe's bedsores were so acute that the muscle was exposed. When she was admitted to Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary, Dr Robin Northcote noted she had not eaten properly for several weeks.

At a fatal accident inquiry into Miss McCabe's death, Sheriff Daniel Convery described conditions at Glenglova as "a public scandal".

Yesterday, at the Sarkers' luxury home in Whitecraigs, Glasgow, Mrs Sarker said: "Dr Sarker is not here."

Asked about public anxiety over his return to work, she replied: "There is no public concern."
