Mary Parnell, 79, dropped dead after dreadlocked Larry Whitfield burst into her home in the small town of Gastonia, North Carolina Gastonia is a city in Gaston County in North Carolina, a state in the southeastern United States.

She suffered a heart attack even though the 20-year-old did not touch or harm her. It was later found Mrs Parnell had advanced heart disease - but Whitfield still faces first degree murder.

District attorny Locke Bell said: "If you're committing robbery, rape or kidnapping and a person dies, that's first-degree murder."
