NEWHALL -- A man witnesses said was driving erratically Tuesday on the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. John Lutz (born 1939) is an American writer who mainly writes mystery novels.

Witnesses told investigators Jin had been speeding in his Ford Windstar and weaving through traffic before rear-ending the big rig, Lutz said.

The van was wedged under the rear of the truck as two passers-by tried to administer first aid. When the van caught fire, they retreated, Lutz said. Two lanes of the northbound freeway were closed about 90 minutes because of the wreckage.
