is forecasting substantial growth for 1996.

"Demand for our windows release has grown so fast that we've had to expand to Regional offices to get closer to our customers," said Allan DeZiel, director of Marketing and Sales for Design Data. "We're starting with sales managers at each location and will increase support staff accordingly. Our California location looks to grow the fastest based on existing clients and required services," added Sally Otto, DDS VP of Client/Services. Design Data has doubled their sales staff to support lead generation over the past year.

DDS's windows release of its client/server Financial Applications combined with the new Distribution product line has increased demand for services as well as product. Its Consulting Division is expected to experience the largest percentage of growth as DDS looks to expand its install base as well as upgrade its existing clients to windows. With the help of partners like Big 8 Accounting firm McGladrey & Pullen, DDS is able to provide additional consulting services to its clients. "We're working on several accounts currently which require our engineers to be experienced in both Oracle Developer 2000 and the DDS Financials," said Sam Volden, consulting manager for Iowa-based McGladrey & Pullen. "We target mid-sized companies in the same target market as Design Data," he added.

The four regional locations will help service existing clients through training and support in addition to targeting new sales. Product consultants, technical integrators and programmers will be added accordingly at all locations.

DDS is also expanding its current Tampa location to facilitate the increase in staff specifically in the consulting and project management areas. DDS expects to add more than 40 consultants over the next six to eight months to support existing as well as new contracts. The new Distribution product line alone has demanded a tremendous increase in consulting work as clients within different vertical markets want to customize it for their industry. DDS recently announced a new Work Order Management release aimed at Systems Integrators which has sparked a tremendous response from the Integrator market as well.
