DCN delivered the BPC-type force projection and command vessel, Tonnerre, to the French procurement agency DGA in February 2007, this event precedes formal handover to the French Navy. The 199-metre-long vessel can accommodate 450 troops, 16 heavy helicopters, two hovercraft and one-third of a mechanised regiment complete with armoured vehicles. The Tonnerre is in Toulon to undergo a final series of combat system tests.
