A[micro] Who: Robert Ross is vice president of Network/Technical Services,
CSO for Hutchinson, Kan.-based DCI, a provider of full-service
bank technology and processing solutions to the financial
industry for more than 40 years. In his presentation at the
        KBA Technology Conference entitled Multi-Factor
Authentication, Ross presented on the following areas relating
        to authentication:

A[micro] -- What is authentication, i.e. the different levels and
forms of authentication (Two-factor authentication, mutual
            authentication and behavioral multi-factor authentication)

A[micro] -- The different types of online fraud and the effects it can
have on customer confidence in online banking

A[micro] -- FDIC's position on fraud and authentication.

A[micro] -- The emerging fraud prevention technologies

A[micro] What: With the increase in online fraud and the proliferation of
security breaches, fraud is at the top of concerns for banks
and bank customers. Financial institutions, in an effort to
provide customers with fraud prevention tools, have turned to
authentication. Authentication verifies the identity of a user
logging into a network with passwords, ID tokens and/or
digital certificates. With online fraudsters using phishing
and pharming scams, authentication provides financial
institutions an added layer of online protection against
        fraudulent activity.
