DB2 sets pulses racing by fetching Aston-ishing pounds 550k at auction.


AN Aston Martin Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury performance cars, whose headquarters are at Gaydon, Warwickshire, England. The company name is derived from the Aston Clinton hill climb and one of the company's founders, Lionel Martin.  DB2 has sold for a record price of pounds 550,000 at an auction where almost pounds 11million was spent on rare motors.

The 1950 car raced at Le Mans and took part in the Mille Miglia.

It was one of 84 classics featured in the RM Auctions event in London, held in association with Sotheby's.

The top sale was a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was a supercar and race car built by Mercedes-AMG, performance and motorsports arm of Mercedes-Benz. Intended for racing in the new FIA GT Championship series in 1997, the CLK GTR was designed primarily as a race car, with the road cars necessary in order  Roadster, the only righthand-drive example built, achieving pounds 616,000, followed closely by a 2005 Mercedes CLK CLK Clock
