The massive event, organised by former US Vice President Al Gore, aimed to raise awareness about climate change. And more than 150 stars took part in the concerts in London, New York, Tokyo, Hamburg and Sydney. Scots singer Paolo Nutini and Irish band Snow Patrol thrilled Wembley as KT Tunstall sang in the Big Apple. Nutini performed Sam Cooke classic Wonderful World and his songs Last Request and Jenny Don't Be Hasty. Gigs on every continent saw Nunatak Nu´na`tak n. 1. In Greenland, an insular hill or mountain surrounded by an ice sheet. playing before penguins at a research station in Antarctica. The London gig kicked off with Genesis, led by Phil Collins, followed by Razorlight and Snow Patrol. Colombian singer Shakira topped the bill in Germany while Jesse, from Rize, entertained in Japan. Gore told the billions tuning in they must join together "to build a sustainable and just, prosperous world".
