--Eagles look sharp: Matthew Witcher recorded his fifth shutout in six Mission League games, giving him nine for the season, and Alec de'Mattos, Chad Muir and Joe Dillon scored as Chaminade (12-4, 5-1) earned a 3-0 league win over Alemany (0-9-1, 0-6).

In other Mission play, Chris Perez of Loyola recorded his seventh shutout as the Cubs (13-5-4, 5-1) kept pace with Chaminade by defeating Harvard-Westlake 3-0. Seth Eaton scored twice for Loyola and Evan Boorman scored once against the Wolverines (6-8-3, 1-4-1).

In girls' soccer:

--Chaminade, again: Three-time defending Southern Section champion Alemany got two goals from Kim Taylor and one each from Mindy Wyatt and Lindsey Weening in a 4-0 Mission League win over Alemany. The Eagles improved to 14-4-5, 3-0-2.

In girls' basketball:

--Maleki leads Griffins: Baha Maleki scored a game-high 26 points to lead visiting Buckley past Viewpoint 51-31 in Liberty League play. The Patriots fell to 3-7, 1-7.

In men's volleyball:
