Jesse Perez went 3 for 3, doubling twice, and winning pitcher Spencer Steward contributed two hits and two RBI as Burroughs (7-7) defeated La Mirada 13-2 to earn a semifinal meeting with St. Francis.

Mike Jackson struck out 12 and Joel Garcia had three hits to lead No. 6 Crespi to a 12-0 win over Quartz Hill (3-10), while Washington's Eastside Catholic (3-2) scored a 13-3 win over Paraclete (8-5).

In other prep baseball:

Warriors tumble: Westlake's Garrett Michaels hit a two-run first-inning home run, but the Warriors could not hold the lead in a 5-3 loss to Fountain Valley in the Corona del Mar tournament. Westlake fell to 8-2-1.
