DAY IN SPORTS: TOP SEED WINS IN TENNIS.

Olga Yepremian of Burbank lost just one game in the final to earn the Foothill League girls' tennis singles championship Thursday at the Burbank Tennis Center.

Yepremian, the No. 1 seed who has lost just one set all season, defeated second-seeded Ashley Herrera of Valencia 6-0, 6-1 for the title.

Missy Suarez and Lauren Tripp, who led Canyon to its best finish in league since 1982 as the Cowboys' top two singles players, opted to play doubles for the tournament - and won the championship. They defeated Burbank's Anna Nazaryan and Joanna Han 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the final.

The top two in both singles and doubles advance to the Southern Section playoffs.
