With the victory, Thousand Oaks (16-9, 10-4) clinched a share of the league title with Moorpark, which defeated Agoura 4-1 on Wednesday.

Bird finished with an eight-hitter and seven strikeouts to improve his record to 7-2 on the season. His counterpart, Clayton Edwards, also went the distance, giving up six hits and striking out eight.

Golden League

--Palmdale 6, Quartz Hill 5: Despite the loss at home, Quartz Hill clinched at least a share of the league title, its third in a row. The Rebels (16-9, 11-4) could clinch the championship outright with a victory over Palmdale in the regular-season finale Friday and become the first program since 1975 to win the league title three consecutive years.
