``He was very sharp. He looked like he was in midseason form,'' St. Francis coach Mike Solar said. ``His fastball was working and he located his pitches well. He was dominant.''

Marquardt kept Paraclete hitters off balance throughout, striking out six and walking one. He threw 91 pitches, 63 for strikes.

He was equally effective at the plate, and his opposite-field grand slam in the seventh capped a six-run inning.

``He got a pitch he could handle,'' Solar said. ``It was a no-doubter. What a day.''
