The victory is Royal's third of the season against the five-time defending league champion, but this was the most dominating.

``This is definitely the best game we've played,'' said Sharleanna Richardson, who contributed two goals. ``We clicked. We were all together today. ... This time we were just going to blow 'em out of the water.''

Royal's Katie Harding scored a team-high three goals. Teammates Christine Cruz and Melissa Dicato added two goals, and Brandy Creek made 14 saves.

The Highlanders (15-4, 10-0), who won their previous meeting with the Chargers (14-6, 7-2) by just one goal in overtime, were up 6-2 by halftime.

But the good news for Royal began a night earlier, when Cruz called coach Devin Hurst and informed him she would be available after a concussion concussion

``It's just something I knew I had to do,'' Cruz said of playing despite a doctor's recommendation to rest. ``I've worked so hard for it. It's something I couldn't miss.''

Royal reached the Southern Section Div. IV semifinals last year, but a league title remained elusive as Agoura routinely cruised through Marmonte play undefeated.

``It's like you have a brick wall and you get to knock it down,'' Cruz said. ``It feels great.

``It feels like everything we've worked for, I can see what it was for.''

Megan O'Linn scored a team-high three goals for Agoura, which also received two goals from Meghan Corso.
