VALLEY MISSION LEAGUE

--Sylmar 14, Reseda 0: Adrianna Lira was 4 for 4 with a home run and three RBI and Crystal Hernandez threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts for host Sylmar (9-4, 1-0) in a game that was called in the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.

--San Fernando 3, Kennedy 0: Selena Salazar had 13 strikeouts in a complete-game, three-hit effort as visiting San Fernando (10-4, 1-0) won the league opener for both teams.

PREP GOLF

NONLEAGUE

--Flintridge Prep 196, Monrovia 250: Brett Kanda, a senior who will play at UNLV UNLV University of Nevada, Las Vegas  next season, earned medalist honors with a 2-under-par round of 34, highlighted by four birdies as Flintridge Prep of La Canada (6-5) won at Alta Dena Golf Course.

GIRLS' SWIMMING

FOOTHILL LEAGUE

--Burroughs 114, Burbank 54: Sophomore Olga Sepa won the 200-yard individual medley (1 minute 20.09 seconds) and the 100 backstroke (1:05.10) to lead host Burroughs of Burbank (1-1 in league).

RIO HONDO LEAGUE

--La Canada 94, Temple City 76: Freshman Natasha Nguyen doubled in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events and sophomore Carolyn Boosalis won the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle to lead visiting La Canada (2-1, 2-0).
