DAY IN SPORTS: PERFECT ENDING FOR SAUGUS' PITCHER.

Tommy Milone was calm and focused on the mound Friday and finished with a perfect game that included seven strikeouts as Saugus defeated host Canyon, 8-0, in a Foothill League game and regular season finale.

``Next thing you know, the game was over, we rushed over to him and the dogpile was on.''

Milone, a 6-foot-1, 205 pound left-hander, threw 61 pitches, 45 for strikes. Teammate Casey Stevenson made a diving A DIV Associate of Divinity  catch in between first and second base in the fourth inning to preserve the perfect game.

LIBERTY LEAGUE

--Providence 2, Viewpoint 0: Sarah Biggs pitched a complete game one-hitter with eight strikeouts for host Providence of Burbank (18-3, 10-0), which has outscored league opponents 74-0 this season.

Biggs' no-hit bid was broken up in the fourth inning. The sophomore has not given up a run in league play in 47 2/3 innings and 55 2/3 overall.

BOYS' TRACK

WEST VALLEY LEAGUE FINALS

--Individual results: Taft of Woodland Hills' Jamere Holland won the 100 meters with a time of 10.72 and finished second in the 200 meters in 21.66, behind Elijah Wells of Taft (21.62).
