The Pepperdine men's volleyball team won the UC Irvine Tournament by knocking off Cal State Northridge 30-27, 30-27, 30-22 Saturday.

Brad Keenan and Scott Wong each had 12 kills for the Waves (3-0). Joe Nargi had 15 kills and Eckhard Walter added 15 kills for the Matadors (2-2).

In men's basketball

--Taylor leads Vaqs: Tim Taylor had 24 points to lead Glendale (14-7, 2-1) to a 75-63 win over Citrus (4-14, 0-3) in a Western State Conference Southern Division game at Glendale.

Michael Schnyder added 21 points for the Vaqueros, ranked No. 10 in the state, who host Valley on Wednesday in an early showdown of preseason division favorites.
