Valley College's men's basketball team continued to impress Saturday night, winning its seventh straight game with a 68-64 decision over Orange Coast in the championship final of the Orange Coast tournament.

The Monarchs (8-3) were led by tournament MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  Isaac Williamson, a 6-foot-4 sophomore wing who had a game-high 23 points. All-tournament teammate Felix Lang addded 18 points for Valley, which also got 10 points, nine assists and three steals from Joe Bakhoum, 10 points from Mike Crawford and a team-best nine rebounds from Wayne Huff huff - To compress data using a Huffman code. Various programs that use such methods have been called "HUFF" or some variant thereof.

All-tournament pick David Castleton scored 21 points to lead Orange Coast, which held a 31-29 lead at halftime.

Musketeers take title: Todd Tomlinson of Moorpark capped an MVP performance by totaling 20 points, nine assists and four steals in leading the Musketeers (3-0) past host Nordhoff 76-49 in the title game of the Nordhoff tournament.

Chris Bucka added 13 points and Ron Russ scored 10 for Moorpark. Etienne Emanuel of Nordhoff scored 20 to share game-high honors and Dusty Baier added 12 points for the Rangers (2-1).

Grisanti sparks Saugus: Mike Grisanti had game-highs of 23 points and 23 rebounds to lead Saugus (3-1) past Alemany 83-68 in the third-place game of the Saugus tournament. Tim Tampa added 20 points, Chad Krogh scored 14, Adam Bradley
