The North Hollywood girls' tennis team was soundly defeated 14-3 by Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. --Flintridge Sacred d. Notre Dame 3-2: Jillian Davis had 21 kills and 27 digs for visiting Flintridge Sacred Heart of La Canada in the 15-12, 15-4, 13-15, 13-15, 15-8 Mission League victory.

In women's soccer:

--Pierce 2, Bakersfield 0: Quartz Hill High graduate Tina Mikkioa and Irene Hernandez, who went to Kennedy of Granada Hills, each scored in the Western State Conference victory for visiting Pierce.

Goalkeeper Kim Morgan (Louisville of Woodland Hills) made five saves in net for her 13th shutout of the season for the Brahmas (13-1-3, 11-1-2), who remained in sole possession of first place with five games remaining in the regular season.

Having scored 51 goals while giving up just four this year, Pierce now turns its attention to Tuesday's first official home game against Valley at the new on-campus soccer facility, which coach Adolfo Perez calls ``The Pit.''

In men's golf:

--CSUN takes 13th: Host Cal State Northridge tied for 13th in its annual Invitational at Wood Ranch G.C., totaling 925 behind winner Utah (867).

Utah's Casey Fowles shot 70-70-68-208 to earn medalist honors and Brad Uptgraft was low scorer for CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  at 73-83-73-229 to tie for 37th.

In women's golf:

--CSUN wins Fall Classic: Elizabeth Allen of Cal State Northridge was medalist in the Matador matador
