--Canyons 13, Glendale 10: Glendale jumped out to an early 8-5 lead, but host College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  rallied for two runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and two more in the sixth to win.

Jeff Knosp broke an 8-8 tie in the sixth with a two-run double. He finished 2 for 4 with a run. Teammate Kyle Boggio, a Hart High of Newhall graduate, was 3 for 4 with a run; Matt Stevens was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI; and Matt Reimers added a pair of hits and an RBI for Canyons (9-8, 5-4).
