DAY IN SPORTS: MAHAN WINS TO LEAD USC.

Freshman Hunter Mahan Hunter Myles Mahan (born May 12, 1982) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour.

Mahan was born in Orange, California. He had a successful amateur career, winning the U.S.

Randolph was born in Santa Barbara, California.
 shot 200 to win the Fresno State Pepsi Classic in 1985.

Kevin Stadler Kevin Stadler (born February 5, 1980) is an American golfer.

Stadler was born in Reno, Nevada. He is the son of former Masters champion and 13-time winner on the PGA Tour Craig Stadler.
 (210), David Oh (218), Nick Jones (221) and walk-on sophomore Chris Botsford (225) completed the scoring for USC, which included a 9-under-par second round for the lowest score of coach Kurt Schuette's three-year Trojan tenure.

In girls' tennis:

--Bring on the Cavs: Granada Hills won its 23rd straight match with a 7-0 victory over host Birmingham of Van Nuys in West Valley League action. The Highlanders (10-0, 7-0) victory sets up Thursday's showdown against Cleveland in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Sisters Jasmin and Christine Dao - a senior and freshman, respectively - led the Highlanders, winning their sets 8-0.

--Waiting in the wings: Led by co-captains Leanne Chan and Christine Liyanto, host Cleveland of Reseda (7-0, 4-0) cruised to a 6-1 West Valley League victory over 1-6, 0-4 Taft of Woodland Hills.

Chan won her match 8-7 (7-4) over Kim Zavala, Liyanto defeated Fiona Lecong 8-1, and Cindy Yim remained unbeaten on the year with an 8-0 descision over Lauren Zimmer.

In girls' cross country:

: Village Christian of Sun Valley, led by Lauren Dvoracek, defeated Paraclete of Lancaster 25-30 in an Alpha League race held at the three-mile Village Christian course.

Dvoracek ran a match-best 22:05, breaking her previous school record of 23:41, in only her sixth varsity start.

In girls' volleyball:

--Hunters in win column: Cecilia Vasquez had five kills and Christine Olague had eight assists to lead Canoga Park to its first victory of the season, a 15-1, 15-7, 15-12 win over visiting Hollywood.

--Better to give than receive: Lina Okita had 15 assists, bringing her school-record single-season total to 193 as Valley Alternative of Van Nuys (4-2, 2-1) lost to Bravo BRAVO Cardiology A clinical trial–Blockade of the GP IIB/IIIA Receptor to Avoid Vascular Occlusion– which evaluated lotrafiban in preventing strokes and acute MI.
