Kearin graduated from Loyola in 1978 and was an assistant for the Cubs from 1980-1990. He was the coach at CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge from 1999-2001, but left when the school eliminated its football program. He replaces legendary Loyola coach Steve Grady, who retired on March 2 after 29 seasons. - Ramona Shelburne Ramona Shelburne is an American sports journalist currently writing for the Los Angeles Daily News.
