Jay Connolly made one of his 16 saves for the Harvard-Westlake of Studio City boys' water polo water polo, swimming game encompassing features of soccer, football, basketball, and hockey. The object of the game is to maneuver, by head, feet, or hand, a leather-covered ball 27 to 28 in.  team to shut down a late rally by visiting Servite of Anaheim and preserve the Wolverines' 9-8 nonleague victory in Wednesday's regular-season finale For the music notation program, see .

``It's huge,'' Harvard-Westlake coach Rich Corso said. ``We go into playoffs with a bit of momentum. They're the No. 1 team in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  and a lot of people say they're No. 1 in the country. I'm not saying we're No. 1, but it puts some wind in our sails.''

Servite (25-2), one of only two teams to defeat the Wolverines, scored three consecutive goals in the fourth quarter, then stole the ball with 12 seconds remaining. But Connolly blocked Rory Bevins' shot and Harvard-Westlake recovered the ball.

Will Hindle-Katel scored a game-high four goals and Eric Vreeland added three for the Wolverines (23-2), ranked No. 1 in Div. I, but Connolly made the biggest plays.

``That was his best game of the whole season,'' Corso said of the junior goalkeeper.

Servite, No. 1 in Div. II, took the initial lead on its first of two 4-meter penalty shots. But after Justin Rappell tied it late in the quarter, Harvard-Westlake never trailed again.
