DAY IN SPORTS: FARMAR FILLS IT UP FOR 22 IN TAFT WIN.

Jordan Farmar Jordan Robert Farmar (born November 30, 1986) is an American professional basketball player at starting point guard for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers.

He was previously the starting point guard for the UCLA men's basketball team.
 scored 22 points as Taft High of Woodland Hills beat Bishop Amat of La Puente La Puente (lä pwĕn`tē), city (1990 pop. 36,955), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a suburb of Los Angeles; laid out 1841, inc. 1956. Primarily residential, the city manufactures hardware, electronics, and paper products.  73-48 in pool play of the Pacifica tournament Wednesday in Oxnard.

Taft (5-1) will play Agoura tonight at 8 to conclude pool play. A victory will put the Toreadors in Friday's championship final.

Taft used a 15-2 run in the second quarter to break the game open and lead 43-24 at halftime, and Bishop Amat never threatened again. Matt Cook added 17 points for the Toreadors, hitting five 3-pointers.

Farmar, who had four 3-pointers, six assists and five steals, will play next year at UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

In other boys' basketball:

--Canyon 48, Don Bosco Tech 45: Kris Rincon scored 16 points, including six in the fourth quarter, and Jess Guieroz made four key free throws late in the game as Canyon beat Don Bosco Tech of Rosemead (4-3) in pool play at the La Canada tournament.

Guieroz had 11 points and Brice Mayer, who was battling the flu, scored nine points and had five assists for Canyon (6-1).

In girls' basketball:

--L.A. Baptist 73, Campbell Hall Campbell Hall can refer to:
  • a residence hall at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech)
  • Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, California
 50: Andreanna Marshall scored five points, but it was her 12 rebounds and nine steals that helped host L.A. Baptist of North Hills win the nonleague game over Campbell Hall of North Hollywood.

Lindsay Sanders led all scorers with 34 points for L.A. Baptist (4-4), which will not play again until Jan. 3, when it hosts Mojave. Brooke Senior had 17 points for Campbell Hall.
