 tennis player Eric Taino Eric Taino (born March 18, 1975 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is a tennis player who represents the Philippines. He started a professional career in 1997. Before turning pro, he played for the UCLA Bruins along with fellow pros Justin Gimelstob and Kevin Kim.  outlasted Taylor Dent 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 Tuesday in a first-round meeting of unseeded Americans at the Rydell Automotive Group/USTA Men's Challenger of Calabasas.

--Chaminade 7, Loyola 2: Sean Clark struck out 10 as the No. 5 Eagles of West Hills (9-2, 6-0) won a Mission League game at Loyola (6-8, 3-2).
