of Woodland Hills and Poly of Sun Valley in the fourth inning Saturday when an altercation allegedly occurred between a parent of an El Camino Real player and two Poly coaches in the dugout area.

Top-ranked El Camino Real, which was leading 9-1 at the time, was forced to forfeit, giving Poly a 7-0 victory.

The alleged incident began shortly after El Camino Real's Nick Akins was hit by a pitch. Before that, both teams had been warned by the umpires for inappropriate language, one of the umpires said.

``It was an unfortunate incident. I've never been a part of something like this before in all my years of baseball,'' said El Camino Real coach Matt La Cour, who declined further comment.

Poly coach Chuck Schwal declined comment and would not reveal the identity of his assistant coach.

El Camino Real could face further disciplinary action once the City Section athletic office reviews the umpires' report Monday morning.

If it is ruled that the El Camino Real players left the dugout, they could be forced to miss Monday's game against Cleveland of Reseda, which could leave the Conquistadores shorthanded and possibly result in another forfeit.

PREP FOOTBALL

--Transfer: Ty Duncan, a second-team All-Foothill League defensive tackle for Burbank High this past season, transferred to Westlake High, and Burbank football coach Greg Sobiech said he plans to file an official complaint with the Southern Section as soon as possible because he believes Duncan was recruited.

Westlake coach Jim Benkert confirmed Duncan, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound sophomore, recently enrolled at Westlake.

``The kid is a real player. Our principal and I are definitely putting together a formal complaint against Westlake High School Westlake High School may refer to:

Sobiech said he believes Westlake has violated an ``undue influence'' rule. If so, Duncan could be ruled ineligible for one year, and the Westlake program and/or coaches could face punishment.

Duncan was not available for comment.
