DAY IN SPORTS: 4-0 RECORD AND RULEBOOK EARN TITLE FOR HARVARD-WESTLAKE.

Byline: Daily News

A Southern Section rule left the final day of the Newbury Park girls' water polo water polo, swimming game encompassing features of soccer, football, basketball, and hockey. The object of the game is to maneuver, by head, feet, or hand, a leather-covered ball 27 to 28 in.  tournament an unresolved issue Saturday.

Harvard-Westlake (6-1) got two goals from Cami Kliner and was crowned tournament champion after defeating Agoura 5-3 but was allowed to do so without facing host Newbury Park.

The Panthers equalled Harvard-Westlake with a perfect 4-0 tournament record, but the two did not meet after tournament organizers were forced to eliminate a round of games.

Southern Section rules limit girls' water polo teams to two games per day, scaling the tournament back to four games per team instead of five.

Jo Antonsen, Colleen Shiman and Dede Peram scored second-half goals for Agoura (6-1).

With Harvard-Westlake, Agoura and Newbury Park undefeated heading into the final round, organizers used point differentials to determine the finalists.

``We expected to play more games, but we're still pleased with the way things turned out,'' Newbury Park coach Jeff Warshaw said.

Erin Campbell, Katy Fick and Lindsay Berke combined for six goals to lead the Panthers to third place with a 6-2 win over San Luis Obispo San Luis Obispo (săn l`ĭs ōbĭs`pō), city (1990 pop. 41,958), seat of San Luis Obispo co., S Calif., near San Luis Obispo Bay; inc. 1856. .
