Danielle Burch did it with both her arm and her bat Monday in Verdugo Hills' 13-0 victory over visiting North Hollywood in a Sunset Six League game.

The senior had 11 strikeouts and tossed her second no-hitter of the season. In addition, Burch hit a three-run home run for the Dons (11-10, 1-0), who extended their league winning streak, which dates back to last season, to 19 games.

``She's been struggling with her pitching lately, but she came out and did a good job,'' Dons coach Darren Fitzgerald said. ``She had a lot more control and kept her velocity throughout the game. Hopefully, she's working out of her little slump.''

Teammates Dena De Pompa (3-4, HR, 2 RBI) and Laura Hovestrydt (2-4, HR, 4 RBI), Jessica Meza (grand slam) and Aleida Arenas (4-4, 2 runs) each contributed to Verdugo Hills 17-hit attack.

In other prep softball:

--San Fernando 11, Reseda 5: Lorana Arreguin and Olga Hernandez each had four hits, and teammates amd sisters Julie and Christina Jimenez each added three hits for visiting San Fernando (12-4, 2-0) in the Valley Mission League.

--Birmingham 10, Taft 0: Melissa Santana pitched a complete-game three-hitter with eight strikeouts and at the plate, the senior finished 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBI for host Birmingham of Van Nuys (16-5, 1-0) in a West Valley League contest.

In prep baseball:

--Cleveland 4, Granada Hills 0: Byron Grubman pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 11 strikeouts for host Cleveland of Reseda in the West Valley League.

Adam McLeod hit a home run and teammates Trevor Arroyo and Adam Olbrychowski each had doubles for the Cavaliers (11-7, 1-3).

--San Fernando 6, Kennedy 5: Pedro Montero led off the seventh with a bunt for a base hit and scored the game-winner on John Sandoval's sacrifice fly for the visiting Tigers in the Valley Mission League game.

In boys' tennis:

--North Hollywood 4, LACES 3: North Hollywood's Mike Baek defeated David Shin 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to clinch the Sunset Six League victory for the host Huskies (4-4, 3-2).

--Poly 5, SOCES 2: Brothers Seve and Don Madrona won in their doubles match as Poly of Sun Valley (5-3, 2-3) won the Sunset Six League match at home.

In boys' golf:

--In the 26nd Annual Palmdale Invitational: Highland of Palmdale's Brandon Olsson earned medalist honors with a two-over par round of 74 at the Crystalaire Country Club.

Olsson, a junior, shot a 33 on the back nine holes, including an eagle and four birdies. Teammates Pat Lodono (82) and Eugene Park (82) finished in 10th and 12th place respectively. Brent Buckingham of Canyon shot a round of 80 to finish in sixth place.

--In the Alpha League Tournament: Jimmy Anderson (L.A. Baptist) and Travis Gatza (Paraclete of Lancaster) shared medalist honors with two-over par rounds of 72 at the Balboa golf course.
