[N.T.: Luke 2:7] See : Nativity SIX MEN have been arrested following a series of dawn raids on a suspected Warwickshire drug ring. More than 50 police officers swooped on homes across the south of the county early on Tuesday morning. Warwickshire's Serious and Organised Crime Group led local officers on the highly co-ordinated raids. Teams simultaneously descended on homes in Kenilworth, Stratford, Bidford-on-Avon, Knowle and Alcester shortly after 6am. Four men were arrested during the raids. Two others who had already been questioned were arrested when they answered police bail. All six men, aged between 25 and 40 years old, were questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs. They were each bailed for one month pending further police inquiries. Officers investigating the case have already seized pounds 100,000 of cocaine and cannabis and pounds 33,000 in cash in the county. A small quantity of illegal drugs and a Taser gun were seized during Tuesday's raids. |
