DAVIS ENLISTS GEPHARDT AT RALLY IN LONG BEACH.

Byline: Jason Gewirtz Staff Writer

LONG BEACH - With opinion surveys showing voters are ready to remove him from office, Gov. Gray Davis rallied his political supporters Friday, joined by Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Rep (programming) REP - A directive used in IBM object code card decks (and later PTF Tapes) to REPlace fragments of already assembled or compiled object code prior to link edit. . Richard Gephardt of Missouri.

During the campaign event at the Port of Long Beach, Davis took the stage along with dozens of labor supporters and recall opponents, stressing the urgency of Tuesday's election and challenging Republican opponent Arnold Schwarzenegger's ability to govern.

down to this: Trust me,'' Davis said. ``He has no plan to fix our economy.''

Davis was flanked by national, state and local public officials who urged labor supporters to keep him in office and denounced the recall as a Republican power grab.

``This is what Republicans do if they don't like the policies, if they don't like the results of the election,'' Gephardt said. ``They try to defeat it.''

The rally in a parking lot at the port headquarters was Davis' only public event Friday. He begins a four-day swing across the state today, starting with a union ``get out the vote'' rally in Oakland.
