DAVID S. GEDNEY NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT
IN MORRISON KNUDSEN'S TRANSPORTATION & WATER RESOURCES GROUP
BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- David S. Gedney, whose career as an engineer and builder of transportation systems spans 30 years, has been named an executive vice-president in the Transportation & Water Resources Group of Morrison Knudsen Corp. (MK) (NYSE: MRN), the company announced today.
Gedney previously served as president and chairman of the board of De Leuw, Cather & Co., a Parsons Corp. subsidiary that specializes in transportation projects. He replaces Robert B. Christensen, who is retiring from MK early next year after 21 years with the company.
"David Gedney will direct continued expansion of MK's work in large design/build infrastructure projects, including those with equity involvement," said William J. Agee, MK chairman and chief executive officer. "We are delighted to have a person of his background in a key executive position as we build on the foundation we have established by winning the very-high-speed rail franchise in Texas and the Honolulu mass transit system design and build project."
Gedney spent eight years with De Leuw, Cather & Co. and also served as president of Harland Bartholomew & Associates Inc., another Parsons subsidiary. He worked for the U.S. Department of Transportation for 19 years, both in the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Railroad Administration. From 1976 to 1980, he directed planning, design and construction of the $2.5-billion rail improvement project to implement 120-mph passenger rail service between Boston and Washington, D.C.
He holds a civil engineering degree from Tufts University and a master's in civil engineering from Purdue University. He will join MK in early February.
Morrison Knudsen Corp. is an international company serving the environmental, industrial processing, power and transportation markets with complete development, design/engineering, construction, operating and financial services.
