DAV teams up with: extreme makeover: home edition.


When it comes to helping disabled veterans and reaching out to the American public, the DAV See WebDAV.  strikes to make an extreme difference. On June 30, the organization took those efforts to prime time, as ARC television's Extreme Makeover: Rome Edition put the final touches on the home of Army Master Sgt. Luis Rodriguez Luis Rodriguez or Luis Rodríguez can refer to different people:
  • Luis Orlando Rodríguez, a baseball player from Venezuela
  • Luis Rodríguez Olmo, a baseball player from Puerto Rico
  • Luis J. Rodríguez, a U.S.
 in Clarksville, Tenn.

 rehabilitation, the cast, crew, and DAV went to work demolishing and rebuilding the family's home.

As the project neared completion. the star of the shore, Ty Pennington Tygert Burton “Ty” Pennington (born October 19, 1965 in Atlanta, Georgia) is a carpenter and TV personality.

He is most famous for being the host of which currently airs on ABC.
, took a moment to interview National Commander James E. Sursely. It teas then that Sursely mobilized the DAV. More than 50 members volunteered and dozens more disabled veterans cheered as D.AV moved the family's furniture into their home.

"As an organization, we saw how this show could help its make an incredible impact for a fancily:" Commander Sursely Said. "We also see how this can put a spotlight on the needs of disabled veterans across the country. It teas truly a win-skin situation".

Months before, DAV contacted the shook to suggest featuring a disabled veterans family. Executives for the shore noted their interest and asked the organization to identity a few nominees who met specific criteria. DAV nominated several families with compelling stories and Rodriguez was selected from the bunch.

A medic medic: see alfalfa.  with the 101st Airborne Division, Rodriguez lost his right leg and two fingertips "Fingertips" is a 1963 number-one hit single recorded live by "Little" Stevie Wonder for Motown's Tamla label. Wonder's first hit single, "Fingertips" was the first live, non-studio recording to reach number-one on the Billboard Pop Singles chart in the United States.  when his Humvee was hit by a roadside bomb near Mosul, Iraq, in November 2003. At the time, he was picking up supplies to deliver to an orphanage in the war-torn country.

Despite his severe disability, Rodriguez fought to avoid medical retirement and remains on active duty as an instructor at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

"Sgt. Rodriguez embodies, the righting spirit of our nations military community and the bravery of our nation's disabled veterans, who must overcome challenges and adversity long after their time in battle has ended." said Commander Sursely, who was given a VIP seating at the family's reveal. "We are proud of Luis' service and were excited to see him receive this well-deserved ed home makeover."
