DAV fields new NFL players cards.

When many NFL players blitz their fans with personal appearances this fall, the DAV will be part of the rush with exclusive NFL player autograph cards.

The cards, produced in association with the National Football League and individuals teams, feature many of the stars of the game and special information about the DAV.

"These are great public outreach tools for the DAV," said National Adjutant Arthur H. Wilson. "NFL players take these special autograph cards to public appearances, sign them for fans and spread our message of service to disabled veterans far and wide."

Several football teams will be using the DAV player autograph cards this fall, including the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts. Teams that used the cards last year, such as the Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams, will be featuring new players added to their rosters during the off-season.

The autograph cards this year will feature the Seattle Seahawks' Shaun Alexander, Michael Boulware, Josh Brown, Bobby Engram, Mack Strong, Lofa Tatupu and Marcus Trufant. The Packers cards display Brett Favre, Rob Davis and Bubba Franks, while the Colts plan to feature Gary Brackett, Mike Doss, Ben Hartsock, Montae Reager, Hunter Smith and Darrell Reid on cards.

"Both the NFL teams and the players are enthusiastic about the DAV autograph cards," said Washington Headquarters Executive Director David W. Gorman. "Thousands of these high-quality cards are handed out to fans of all ages, providing a unique way of informing them about the DAV and our service to disabled veterans and their families."

In addition to the player autograph cards, the award-winning video GIs of the Gridiron will again be played before NFL crowds on stadium scoreboards. The video production debuted last year received universal acclaim for depicting the service to our nation by many NFL greats.

"As the season kicks off, the DAV is ready to help the veterans who need our services," said Gorman. "We appreciate the close cooperation and support of the NFL and its teams in making this a very successful program of service and public outreach."
