Byline: Lee Condon Daily News Staff Writer

A teen-age woman accused of conspiring with her boyfriend to kill her mother was denied permission to attend her mother's memorial service Wednesday.

Last-minute security concerns kept Amber Bray, 18, behind bars at the Sybil Brand Institute The Sybil Brand Institute (in full, the Sybil Brand Institute For Women) was a famous county jail in Los Angeles County, California. The facility was named after Sybil Brand (May 8, 1899-February 17, 2004), a noted local philanthropist and civic leader.  as her family and hundreds of her mother's friends gathered at St. Robert's Bellarmine Catholic Church to mourn Dixie Hollier's death.

Burbank police Lt. Larry Koch said the concern centered on how Bray's presence might cause a disturbance.

"She was going to be there with a lot of family members," Koch said. "You might have different opinions in the family. You're going to have people who don't think she is involved and then people who do think she is involved."

Koch said Burbank police were concerned that under the worst case scenario

Police said Ayers still was stabbing Hollier when they arrived at the house early last Tuesday morning in response to a 911 call.

Later police said they had recovered documents at Ayers' Burbank home that showed he and Bray had been planning the murder for months.

Although Hollier lived in a very modest two-bedroom apartment and friends said she always struggled financially, police said Bray and Ayers hoped to profit from Hollier's death.
