DATASCOPE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SHAREHOLDER CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT

MONTVALE, N.J., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Datascope Corporation (NASDAQ-OTC: DSCP) announced today that a shareholder filed a class action in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey against the company and its chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Lawrence Saper, alleging, among other things, that they inflated the company's common stock price by falsely leading investors to believe that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approval of VasoSeal(TM) was imminent. The complaint seeks monetary damages in excess of $1 million. The company and Mr. Saper believe that the allegations in the complaint are without merit and will vigorously defend the action.
