DATA BROADCASTING APPOINTS TWO NEW DIRECTORS.

DATA BROADCASTING CORPORATION (Nasdaq: DBCC) (DBC), a leading source of securities pricing, financial information and analytic tools to global institutional, professional and individual investors, today announced the appointment of Gloria Samuels and Giles Spackman to its board of directors.

Gloria Samuels is chief executive officer of Pearson Technology Centre, whose mission is to use technology to drive business results for Pearson plc (NYSE: PSO) across the globe. She previously served as senior vice president for program management at Simon & Schuster and as director of information technology for PepsiCo. Ms. Samuels began her career at Andersen Consulting, where she delivered large-scale technology solutions from the concept stage through implementation.

Giles Spackman is finance director of the Financial Times Group, a division of Pearson plc. He previously served as strategy and development director for Pearson plc, where his responsibilities spanned the entire company, including educational and trade publishing, business and financial information, and television production. Prior to joining Pearson, Mr. Spackman held several senior management positions with Time Inc. and was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he focused on strategic and financial issues in the consumer sector.
