ON THE DASHBOARD: McDonald's Chipotle chi·pot·le n. A ripe jalapeño pepper that has been dried and smoked for use in cooking. [American Spanish, from Nahuatl xipotli.] Noun 1. BBQ BBQ barbecue Snack Wrap The Snack Wrap is a menu item available at McDonald's in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. It consists of 100% white meat chicken breast (crispy or grilled), lettuce, shredded Cheddar cheeser snd Monterey Jack cheese, and a sauce (ranch, honey mustard or salsa roja), THE SPECS: Your choice of deep-fried or grilled chicken breast strips with lettuce, a cheddar-jack cheese blend and chipotle barbecue sauce all wrapped up in a flour tortilla. WHAT'S THE CONCEPT? Although what you have here is essentially a burrito, McDonald's obviously thinks this chicken burrito will seem more hip and healthy if they call it a wrap and pitch it as a snack. A snack? Maybe the idea is that you can chow one of these snack wraps to hold you over until you have your Double Quarter Pounder The Quarter Pounder is a sandwich sold by international fast food chain McDonald's. Along with the Big Mac, it is one of McDonald's two signature products. Product description With Cheese meal with large fries. DOES IT DELIVER? As a hip and healthy wrap, overall this snack wrap doesn't have too much depth. The deep-fried chicken strips were, of course, better-tasting, and the meat was more moist. The grilled chicken had a lingering lin·ger v. lin·gered, lin·ger·ing, lin·gers v.intr. 1. To be slow in leaving, especially out of reluctance; tarry. See Synonyms at stay1. 2. aftertaste aftertaste /af·ter·taste/ (-tast?) a taste continuing after the substance producing it has been removed. af·ter·taste n. that was something of a cross between margarine and liquid smoke -- and completely artificial. The cloyingly cloy v. cloyed, cloy·ing, cloys v.tr. To cause distaste or disgust by supplying with too much of something originally pleasant, especially something rich or sweet; surfeit. v.intr. sweet chipotle sauce masked the aftertaste pretty well. Together with the lettuce and cheese, the wrap was a bit dry and just needed to have more moisture in it -- tomatoes would have been nice. Obviously it's a personal preference, but if any kind of wrap or burrito has cheese in it, it should be melted. The whole purpose of grating cheese is simply so it can melt more easily. IS IT WORTH THE MONEY AND CALORIES? Nutrition know-it-alls say a snack should be about 100 calories. By that measure, there's three snacks worth of calories here. For that many calories, it should have a whole lot more taste and texture. FINAL DASHBOARD DINING RATING: 1 1/2 BITES.
