DASCO COMPANIES announces opening of Edinburg Regional Medical Plaza I.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 1997--DASCO COMPANIES' President and Chief Executive Officer, Bruce A. Rendina, announced the opening of Edinburg Regional Medical Plaza I. Physicians have moved in and are practicing in this 53,000 square foot, two-story medical office facility which is connected to the new Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

The state-of-the-art medical plaza houses a wide range of physician specialities and services including: The Edinburg Women's Center, consisting of Carlos Mohamed, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., Jim Garza, M.D., and Augustin Martinez, M.D., the Rio Grande Surgical Associates including Ricardo D. Martinez, M.D. and Jesus H. Valdes, M.D.; the Edinburg Medical Center Inc., a family practice group including Ben Garza, M.D. and Rolando Yarritu, M.D.; South Texas Adult & Children's Orthopedics headed by Fred L. Perez Jr., M.D.; General Vascular Thoracic Surgery including Juan F. Jimenez, M.D.; F.A.C.S., Victor Haddad, M.D., F.A.C.S., John G. Edinburg Hospital has been serving the area for over 68 years with a 112-bed facility. The current acute care facility is staffed with over 150 physicians representing more than 25 medical specialties. The hospital purchased approximately 60 acres of land for the construction of a hospital that will replace the current facility. The new acute care hospital, Edinburg Regional Medical Center, slated to open July 1, 1997, will feature 130 beds on a 60-acre campus including several medical office facilities.
