DARREN CLARKE Darren Christopher Clarke (born August 14, 1968) is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland who plays on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. He was born in Dungannon, County Tyrone. He played college golf at Wake Forest University in the United States. shot a 69 yesterday after improving his game - by getting drunk. Northern Ireland star Clarke, 40, was so annoyed after a 78 in his third round he went to the pub to let off steam. He claims that Saturday session helped his game as he finished on nine over par.

Clarke (above) said: "I came off the golf course, went straight to the pub and got drunk.
